Couples and Family Therapy
Couples may seek therapy to address a crisis in their relationship or to improve their relationship. We offer couples therapy for partners who are navigating communication problems, recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, trust issues, and intimacy concerns. Couples therapy is not about assigning blame; it is about understanding your negative cycles, repairing the ruptures, and rebuilding a partnership that feels stronger and safer. We use an integrative evidence-based treatment approach, including Internal Family Systems, Gottman and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
We support couples experiencing:
*Communication Breakdowns
*Recurring Conflict
*Intimacy & Desire Differences
*Trust, Betrayal, & Repair
*Premarital & Second Marriages
*Separation & Co-Decision Making
*Parenting & Co-Parenting
*Life Transitions & Role Strain
*Work Spillover for Professionals & High-Achievers
Families may struggle with problems that impact the family unit and focusing on the family as a whole can be most effective. The emphasis of Supportive Family Therapy is to create a safe environment for family members to improve communication among themselves, reduce conflict, and overall support each other. At the start of treatment, we establish rules and parameters of the treatment so that all members feel safe. We also work with estranged families to address the issues that led to the rupture and work to rebuild the relationship.
